Jonathan and I discuss employment within the UFT, and meet with two members who were fired for disagreeing with the controlling caucus. We also meet with a young math teacher, a former beginning ESL student of mine. There is enthusiasm in teachers, and we must work to preserve it.
(I apologize for sending a failed link yesterday. We are new to the podcast game, and Jonathan is learning the new software.)
Hello Mr Goldstein,
I was listening to the State of the Union Podcast . It heartfelt listening to the two teachers / UFT employees discussing the backlash they faced because they started to voice their opinions and not just going with the flow of the UFT. I have a different story that I would like to share with you and others . I unfortunately was dismissed even before taking on my new role as 2nd vice chair of the paraprofessionals. And as you know is an executive position that is voted on by thousands of power professionals in the five boroughs. So if I can I would like to sit on one of your podcast one day.
