Under Banner of MLC, Michael Mulgrew Opposes Legislation to Protect Retirees
in his capacity as Executive Vice Chair
I was not planning to post until tomorrow night, covering the Delegate Assembly, but I was just sent this and need to share it with you.
Below you’ll see a letter full of claims that have been repeatedly debunked by NYC Retirees President Marianne Pizzitola. Notice Michael Mulgrew’s name, third from top on left. Mulgrew claims to support traditional Medicare for retirees, but is clearly party to trying to prevent us from acquiring it.
That’s not to mention his being part of an amicus brief against us as Eric Adams’ challenges us in court. Mulgrew’s words say he supports us, but his actions say he opposes us.
It that’s not hypocrisy, I don’t know what is.

If Napoli is right that Bill 1096 is unlawful than 12.126 of the administrative code is unlawful. He must know better than New York’s highest court: the Court of Appeals which has decided for the New York Retirees.
Since we know that Naspoli can not write a complete sentence, this letter was written by Naspoli’s and Mulgrew’s very smart lawyers retained by the MLC and UFT to oppose the rights of their retirees.
Have they no shame. Have they no sense of decency.
