Thank you for the accurate recent history lesson on Medicare. It's too bad Marianne isn't head of UFT.

You need to be a UFT member to run UFT. However, you don't need to be part of the Unity Patronage Cult.

Pretty sure I read the substack piece written by the Unity hack I think you're referring to, he's so condescending. I remember he was the same one who told us that because we're former teachers a "little" paperwork necessary to recoup the big $105. in reimbursement is not too much work, how dare we think that's too much to expect! Nevermind the damn co-pays shouldn't exist in the first place! Obnoxious!! Thanks for your clarity and truth.

Yes I was surprised by that rationale about paperwork. It is NOT a little paperwork. It is excessive paperwork, something we fight as unionists. I spent hours with it and couldn't finish. The thing is, though, when you're part of a cult, you do whatever the leader requires. You never, ever criticize the leader, you rationalize everything the leader says, and you attack the enemies. It doesn't matter whether or not your arguments are valid, Marianne has a valid reason for opposing COPE, as do I. Neither of us are anti-union. Anti-union is working against the interests of members--like fighting 1096, or promoting excessive paperwork, as just two examples.
