I could not believe that Mulgrew boasted that he approves an outline for the CBA: who would admit that.

Did Mulgrew read the 2018 Agreement between the City and the MLC committing to 600 million dollars in annual savings forever?

And how is the MLC going to do that under this plan?

The devil is always in the details. I am glad that the UHC has a nationwide network but when the plan freezes reimbursement rates how many will drop out?

Not to worry, the RTC will provide oversight.

Mulgrew was certainly aware of the 2018 agreement. It was built on the 2014 agreement, which he and his "very smart people" initiated. He chose to misrepresent Appedix B to us, claiming he'd locked in premium health care, that copays would not rise, and that there would be no significant changes. It was true that no one aside from retirees paid premiums, but the other two claims were real whoppers. I certainly hope you're being facetious about the RTC. As far as I can tell, the people running it have forgotten entirely why they were elected.

The outcome in my opinion was a forgone conclusion. The anger and chaos that ensued was shocking and emblematic of how much distrust and resentment there is for a caucus called “ unity “. As someone mentioned, “ once bitten twice shy “. Which is a great 1975 rock song written and sung by Ian Hunter. The band Great White made it a hit in 1989. … that message was the opinion of much of the dissenters

True, but the dissenters were a distinct minority and not even the RTC, supposedly an opposition, bothered to take a stand against it.

Arther when the City and MLC freeze the provider rates how many providers outside of New York will stay in the network?

Without a metric on the participation in the UHC network : how meaningful is the network?

I point to the UFT dental plan.

Without a guarantee that the UHC provider network numbers will be maintained: how can you support it?

Short term: yes; Long term?

I must be missing something that smarter people know.

I'm not sure what you're missing. My former primary doctor dropped GHI, and when I asked him why, he said, "Because they pay shit." I believe I lost three doctors that way.

Arther, it is just incredible to me . Have they no shame.

The biggest joke was the resolution against Medicare Advantage.

Didn’t Mulgrew say it was better than Medicare. It was the greatest plan ever invented by man!

The issue with that is that it's sheer lip service. They fight to the death for their right to dump us wherever.

The City and MLC will freeze the provider reimbursement rates. The plan will realize "savings" but the providers will eventually and inevitably drop out. Proof: the UFT dental plan. So when the network shrinks including for out-of-state retirees who will be accountable: Not Michael Mulgrew.

The insurance companies who are just administering the plan probably have performance (i.e. savings) incentives. That is probably what is redacted. But, of course you don't know only Michael Mulgrew and his lawyers know.

Did the Health Committee review the redacted language? Did the Health Committee retain an actuary? Did the Health Committee retain a health insurance expert?

The City is entitled to $600 million in annual savings. The City has filed an arbitration action against the MLC for the billions that are owed. Is Mulgrew saying that the City will not enforce the 2018 Agreement?

I was hoping that a someone would ask that question specifically. But Mulgrew is a master at planting his own speakers and putting down and suppressing dissent.

Shameful.

The redacted language, according to Mulgrew, was only about numbers, and the fantastic deal they made. It was so good, he seemed to suggest, that no one else could know about it. That said, with one day to observe the NON-redacted language, no one on the health committee could make an educated assessment based on it. There was certainly no timer to study it. The rest of us, of course, have seen nothing. Mulgrew said that for labor contracts, we only see the main points and not the actual contract. That is true, and we've paid dearly for it.
