Now Mulgrew is lost in all his lies. He cannot even keep track of all his fibs. However, I remember them all and will repeat them over and over again until the UFT has new leadership and becomes a truly democratic union.

It's kind of incomprehensible. Why would he be out there contradicting himself so flagrantly? What does it gain him?

The Medicare Advantage savings were going to the Health Insurance Stabilization Fund which subsidized GHI. (See the October 28, 2021 filing with the City Council by the Independent Budget Office.) Without Medicare Advantage that will not happen. The MLC agreed to "save" the City $600 million dollars annually starting in 2022. How will the MLC meet that obligation?

I think that Mr. Mulgrew should address these issues to his members.

Yeah me too. Especially now. I don't envy him at all.

Arthur, I’ve been quietly following your blog for many years. It’s been the only place where I could find true, spin-free perspective. I have been so down in the dumps at the state of our Union for a long time now. The Retired Teacher’s win was the first time I saw a glimmer of hope. I am in service for close to 25 years and know UNITY’s antics too well. We need to focus on keeping the momentum going and achieving democratic change in next year’s election. We need to galvanize in service people.

Thanks for your kinds words Matt. I couldn't agree more that it's time for them to go, and that we need to get the word out to in-service.

According to all the agreement documentation, MA, was only the beginning of destroying public service healthcare. They proposed premiums, higher copays, and reduced or eliminated reimbursements among other deplorable actions. Can the arbitrator continue to move forward with all of this? It sounds like we still have a long way to go. We have to continue to donate to nycretirees.org

He can't move forward with MA while it's in the courts. As for the rest, it's anyone's guess what will happen next. This is a mess of Mulgrew's making. He's got remarkable audacity, chutzpah, to blame this on the city. And yes, of course we have to donate. I'll do it right now.
