I also attended virtually. Bennett always bends over backwards to allow those with opposing views to have a voice. Mr. Murphy always did the opposite. Again, they tried to play off one group against the other, never realizing all will eventually be on Medicare if it can survive the next four years.
It’s satisfying to hear good ideas transformed into knowledgeable action and moderated, recorded and disseminated in a workable, democratic frame. Reminds me of the good old days when the union was young and so was I as a chapter chair.
Not so fast about "democracy", Arthur. We were promised online participation in the meetings. I did not think that it only meant voting!
The chat has been totally disabled.... so that we cannot share opinions with fellow online members as had existed with UNITY leadership!
The Q&A is semi-disabled so that the only questions a member can see are the member's own questions, again interrupting member interaction, and worse, nobody even responds that the question is in some order. UNITY leadership served up questions audience and online alternating!
Here's the snip of my attempts to get as response during the meeting. Maybe you can get someone to pay attention.
Unfortunately, my screen shot to demonstrate my point does not get copied into this box. It's available whenever you want to see it, or is this your way of inhibiting communication?
I love the very notion that you can compare an online chat, which Bennett did not disable, which he remarked he did not know what happened to, with actual voting.
I did not use the chat, as I was taking copious notes.
Whatever the issues, this beats the hell out of having no voice whatsoever, which is precisely what your proud, ageist caucus saw fit to give the RTC.
Ah yes, because you didn't get to speak every meeting, "no voice." I saw the chats when UNITY leadership did the meetings. Lots of opinions, positive, negative, neutral, so that online members could share in the discussion, sort of like people in the audience sharing remarks. That's voice too, just not to you, but to online partners. You are not necessarily who they want to talk to.

Couldn't agree more.

It absolutely is. It's a remarkable improvement over last year, when there was no voting, no motions, and sorely limited questions.
Last reply. Revisionist history because you could never reply with a reasonable explanation to my original post. Sometimes you have to be honest.

I was referring to the fact that your caucus did not allow us to vote.
Defend that, Vincent.
Name the resolution that you couldn't vote on? I am hard pressed to know which one. That's what we do at chapter meetings.
I'm afraid you are hard of reading, Vincent. You have a nice day now.
