I’m thankful to you, Arthur, for the eloquent way you write about the needs of our members, and expose Unity leadership for the ways they have screwed us. One of my daughters never got that raise after working 6 or 7 years in the Bronx as an OT. She had her first child then had to move to NJ (and now Ga.) because of her husband’s Air Force job. She never saw a dime for all the years she worked. Yes a change at the top is needed and is coming.
Thanks Pat. I appreciate you and your activism. Very sorry to hear about your daughter. At FLHS, the best social worker I've ever met left, after years of being appointed only semester to semester. I was very sad to see her go, especially having forfeited years of back pay she'd earned.
The right to strike is important, but it's not our only tool. For years, we've sat and watched as the city lowballed DC37 or UFT and pushed a crap pattern on the whole city. Organizing the MLC to hold out for, at the very least, cost of living, is a better first step.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Out with Mulgrew - repair the mlc to represent the way they should !
It would certainly be good to have MLC represent members, as opposed to the mayor.
Until the public sector gets the right to strike we will continually be given substandard contracts.
