Tom Murphy is fighting to impose Medicare Advantage on UFT retirees and their dependents. Incredible.

Mulgrew said that the Aetna plan is better than Medicare, Medicare supplement and Medicare Part B reimbursement. If so, why not give retirees and their dependents the right to choose?

We all know why.

Great point!

Your commentaries have been gems Arthur. Excellent debunking of Tom Murphy's official statement in his pathetic flyer. So Mr. [Civility] Tom Murphy has decided to continue to lie, censor, self-enrich, and pursue Mulgrew's treacherous healthcare agenda. Of course he didn't bother to announce his official run verbally for those of us on zoom. It's not easy to deliver a deceitful announcement, by mic, to an abused, watchful, educated crowd standing before him. At this late hour, you'd think he'd have the foresight and heart to take the honest road. There's been too much garbage -even outrageous legal threats (as you experienced)- arising from Mulgrew's Unity Slate. So my ongoing gratitude goes to you, your fellow Retiree Advocate Heads, and Marianne Pizzitola for having true civility: the extraordinary energy, courage, logic and spunk to protect lives from such corrupt Unity leaders. To fellow UFT retirees who want the crazy gas-lighting and exploitation to end: When you receive your election ballot by mail (~ May 11- May 13ish) civilly plant one Big X in the box indicated for the Retiree Advocates Slate, and mail it back! The Unity Slate must get voted out!

Thanks for your kind words and sharp comments Laura. Yes, they gotta go, along with their fake civility, ASAP.

If Weingarten and Mulgrew believed in union, wouldn’t they organize their own union?!

Are the UFT employees represented by a union? If not, shouldn’t they be so they cannot be terminated at the whim of union bosses?

They most certainly are not. I have two friends who were terminated by UFT bosses for being part of opposition. So much for that "independent thinking" they like to boast of.

This would be a boring time without Arthur Goldstein. This is exactly what RA should be doing in our campaign against Unity…responding to each of points in Unity literature. It is so obvious that Murphy is totally out of touch with reality. Can you imagine calling a classroom full of high school students “rude and disrespectful “?

Thanks for your kind words Gail. I am part of RA, and I'm doing just what you suggested. This would not have been possible if Bennett Fischer, our candidate for chapter leader, had not shared the handout with me. And as for your last question, it's a very good one. Neither Mulgrew nor Murphy is fit to teach, let alone lead us.
