No doubt Mulgrew and his defenders will accuse your commentary of tonight's DA as one personal attack after another. But every single critical point you've made is tragically and alarmingly true. Muglrew's hypocrisy and incredible ill will, impacting so many lives, shouldn't just be allowed to strut the floor. Thank you so much Arthur!!!

Thanks Laura. Were I to say someone was a liar, and therefore you could not believe this or that statement it would be a personal attack. I'm not persuaded it's a personal attack when you simply demonstrate someone said something that isn't true, or that his actions contradict something he said. Anyone who doesn't care for my reporting can read Mike Sill's email, containing only fawning statements about how Mulgrew said this or that, and nothing whatsoever about member participation in this alleged union meeting.

Totally agree with you Arthur.

"Appreciate our retirees always interested in politics, need them interested, great strength of our union." Dd anyone else find this offensive, retirees being talked down to?

It is becoming a daily occurrence. Been saying for a long while now. We are invisible, ignored, and disrespected consistently.

Arthur Goldstein's avatar

That may be, but Michael Mulgrew takes it to a new level entirely.

I agree

How can Mulgrew say the issue of copays should go through the Health Committee? He and his MLC cronies imposed these. He didn’t go through the health committee. Adams and now Mandami could end them today. This was my first time on the phone. Mulgrew sounds as bad as he does in person. Virtual is a good option, but seeing what’s going on would b more helpful for sure. Sill’s notes said nothing much. Since when are retirees more political than in service folks? I heard a lot of untruths today.

Arthur thank you fot being so frank in your reporting..

Thanks Patricia. He's giving what sounds like a compliment, but his ageist cult only wants to use and discard us. The fact that he talks up opposition to MA while battling for his option to impose it speaks volumes.

Just a point of information - if you are an employee of the UFT, you are an at-will employee. It is different than being a MEMBER of the UFT, where you have contractual due process rights.

Arthur Goldstein's avatar

Yes, of course I'm aware of that. That's precisely why it's so outrageous to see Mulgrew discussing due process.

Margaret Negrelli's avatar

I was referring to those who were fired from their positions - they were at-will employees…no due process in those capacities.

Was that you asking those questions?
