And don’t forget we promised to save the City 600 million dollars a year in heath care costs because the City agreed to give it back to the Health Stabilization Fund which we depleted with no audit.

Odd that the Very Smart People would deplete the fund. Maybe it wasn't Very Smart to give the city a billion dollars back on 2014, in exchange for a terrible deal that got some UFT members the money they were owed eight years late with not one cent of interest,

They believe we are as stupid as they are

I keep asking people I text with how stupid they could be to give stipends to in-service DA members and ignore us. It's like they want to make sure we never support them again, That said, I don't need their money, and I will absolutely donate any stipend to NYC Retirees.

Thanks for your kind words. I've moved mostly away from satire, but it seemed the best way to cover this.

I just worry that some members will be fooled by them. We have to keep hitting home that Unity SOEs nothing that is not in their self interest

Certainly SOME members will be fooled. But it's our intent to keep that to a minimum. I've seen how they respond to us, with lies if they give their names, and personal insults if they're too fraidy-scared to do so.

If you can, please come to our seminar January 5th.

wonderful piece.....and remember that michael mulgrew somehow became an English teacher when his original license/job was phased out at his school just so he could write all those fantastic letters and emails he writes....because I assume he writes them all personally because he cares so darned much

Thank you Peter. I too admire Mulgrew for the way he manages to write in a voice that's so deliberate and controlled, as oppose to the rambling, often less than coherent way he speaks at the DA. It's remarkable how he's mastered two such distinct voices.

he just is all around impressive...his intellectual flexibility, his amazing communication skills, his facility with logic, his kindness, and his empathy....I'm always in awe

I know. What is with all these people who think he's against real Medicare for retirees simply because he campaigned for Medicare Advantage for years and said anyone who disagreed was spouting fairy tales and conspiracy theories? I mean, where is the TRUST?
