Compelling column. If Randi Weingarten and Michael Mulgrew really believe in fair elections they would provide the opposing caucuses with the membership contact information so the members could vote on an informed basis.

But what they really believe in is their survival.

True. In fact, our CL Bennett can't send an email to RTC without running it by Unity bosses.

I call BULLSHIT! Your facts are correct by the way UFT Unity is organized they won't let anyone in. Of course for fear of their positions...which will be GONE!

VOTE MULGREW & UNITY OUT!

There are good people in Unity who do good work. That said, Mulgrew removed the best one I ever met. But it's a problem. They hire for loyalty, not competence. Also, elections mean little if you aren't willing to kiss the ring. I was pretty surprised to win a position with almost no responsibilities. I don't need a union job at all, and I'm not angling for one. But if my position called for me to work, I would. It's outrageous that we elect people, on all levels, to positions that mean nothing, and then Mulgrew gets to place whoever he wants wherever he likes. I've seen less than honest, less than leaders get placed for nothing more than loyalty. It's a disgrace, and I guess this should be a column.

Your use of the word “fealty” was spot on in this regard.

Another masterpiece Arthur. You put into words what so many of us struggle to communicate to others.

I agree 10000000000000000%!

Who is RA ENDORSING? We need to get that information out to the in service crew. They are so busy they do not even realize there is a vote this coming year. Many schools are run by UNITY chapter leaders which pull all other literature out so the only choice is UNITY. WE HAVE TO STOP THAT! mea
