Arthur you’re always on point, reading between the lines, not letting Mulgrew pull the wool over our eyes. Thank you for helping to protect the retirees!
I have a different take on Mulgrew’s resolutions: I think it’s not so much a question of talking out of two sides of his mouth as being thoroughly confused in his thinking about what Medicare actually is. I think he conflates Traditional Medicare with the various structures we have today for its delivery. So where you say “The wording is too nebulous” — totally agree, but on the grounds that he doesn’t really know what he’s talking about. If you have a moment or two, I explained it more fully in this post: underassault dot blogspot dot com “Mulgrew’s new resolutions…”
I'm not on xitter and would never go there. But I did contact the AFT, and contacted Randi on her FB page. I had to message her, because there is no ability to comment publicly on her page. I guess she's not interested in hearing from her constituents.
She's running the AFT Convention in Houston right now. Regardless, I think her position is pretty clear. They passed a resolution. Mulgrew wrote us an email boasting about it because he takes all of us for fools.
Randi Weingarten and Michael Mulgrew “heard you” and humored you but will not support you and do not care about your health care.
That's a pretty good interpretation, so far. We are working to change that, and we will not accept empty gestures.

Thanks for your kind words, Patricia.

Actually both: he’s two faced AND he doesn’t have a grasp on the whole thing.
I was just going to reply to your first comment, asking, "Why can't it be both?" Well, we both agree that it is.
Well, it's 8 hours later, and still no response from Randi.

She's usually pretty good about responding, actually.
I'll let you know.

What's the best way to contact Randi Weingarten?
She's on Facebook and Twitter. Also, here is the AFT contact page.
